Golden hour Joshua tree engagement & MATERNITY photoshoot
When Marissa and Stephen reached out to book their engagement photos in Joshua Tree, I knew we were going to create something beautiful. They made the trip from Los Angeles to meet me at Cap Rock in Joshua Tree National Park, one of the most breathtaking locations for an engagement or couples photoshoot. The golden desert light, the towering rock formations, and the endless open skies set the perfect scene for capturing their love and excitement for their future together.
What I didn’t know when we first started shooting was that this session was also going to be a gender reveal! When they shared that we’d be capturing the exact moment they found out the gender of their upcoming baby, my heart melted. They handed me the envelope with the big news inside, and I had the honor of preparing the surprise by placing pink flowers in Stephen’s hands. When the moment came, he whipped them around to reveal them to himself and Marissa, who turned to face him—it was pure magic. The emotion were overwhelming—tears, laughter, and so much joy. I couldn’t help but get emotional myself, especially since I’m an aunt myself! Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do—freezing time so that families can relive these emotions forever.
Marissa and Stephen could have chosen anyone to document this milestone, and I felt truly honored that they trusted me.
