A Sweet AND INTIMATE Santa Barbara Wedding Reception
Some moments in life stay with you forever. As a wedding and couples photographer, I’ve captured many love stories, but photographing my sister Alyssa and her husband Don’s wedding reception at Brass Bear Brewery in Santa Barbara was one of my most cherished experiences. Their intimate, travel-themed celebration was filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of close family and friends.
The day before, Alyssa and Don tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, surrounded by just our immediate families. It was simple, heartfelt, and absolutely perfect. This reception the next day was their chance to celebrate with a larger group—to dance, toast, and fully soak in the love that surrounded them. Seeing Alyssa so happy, with a man who cares for her, makes her laugh, and loves her so deeply, filled me with so much joy. She deserves the world, and I’m beyond grateful she found someone who gives her just that.
That evening, the guests learned Alyssa was expecting a baby boy. Though Noah is unfortunately no longer with us, his presence will always be felt, and his memory will forever be part of their story and our family. As we celebrated, we also carried our mother in our hearts, knowing she was there in spirit, smiling down on us, proud of the love that surrounded her family. I kept imagining her laughing and dancing with us throughout the night.
Capturing weddings, elopements, and special events is about more than just photos—it’s about preserving the emotions, connections, and fleeting moments that make life so beautiful. This night was a reminder of just how precious those moments are.
